Canonicalise entries (via Pubmed, Collection of Computer Science Bibliographies etc)

I've used the Perl script at http://www.perlmonks.org/?node_id=515163 to canonicalise entries (it uses the Collection of Computer Science Bibliographies at http://liinwww.ira.uka.de). This has to be done offline, and could be improved with access to a wider range of subjects - e.g. by accessing Pubmed as well.

I'd like to see a serverside version of this, set up to use multiple sources so I could canonicalise all my entries via a web interface, and automatically add missing abstracts etc. This should help find and merge duplicate entries too.

For me would be an absolute killer feature - fingers crossed.

CiteULike organises scholarly (or academic) papers or literature and provides bibliographic (which means it makes bibliographies) for universities and higher education establishments. It helps undergraduates and postgraduates. People studying for PhDs or in postdoctoral (postdoc) positions. The service is similar in scope to EndNote or RefWorks or any other reference manager like BibTeX, but it is a social bookmarking service for scientists and humanities researchers.
